As a full time mixed shift RN in the Cardio-Thoracic ICU (CTICU) you will become part of the top cardiovascular program in the Las Vegas valley. We service a high acuity post-op / post procedure patient population. These procedures consist of cardiac bypass and complex valve replacement/repair, including Impella, TAVR, CardioMems, and Watchman programs. We have 24/7 Intensivist coverage and support in the department and all of our ICUs in the facility.
Our surgeons are exclusive to MountainView, with some of the busiest and most respected practices in the valley, and growing. That is the reason these positions are open and new, we are growing and looking for qualified individuals to grow with us. You will have the chance to work alongside a highly engaged team and one of the best CT/CV staffs in the West. We currently have several positions open on the mixed shift.
POSITION SUMMARY (includes, but is not limited to):
This full time mixed shift CTICU RN position will perform the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients.
They will ensure that we meet the Standards of Care and Standards of Practice, supervise assigned personnel and provide education and clinical support for the care of cardiac thoracic surgery patients.
You are responsible for promoting collaboration with physicians and personnel of other departments.
Demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and staff support appropriate to the patients served.
Ensuring the knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of patient status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify patient requirements relative to his/her age specific needs.
Provide care needed as described in department policies and procedures.
Complete a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment; complies with hospital employee health, infection control, and safety management programs.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Succession completion of a basic critical care course at MountainView Hospital or equivalent training/experience will be accepted instead of the course
At least 1 year of experience in Cardio-Thoracic Surgery ICU recovery and care
Complete a CTICU Cardiac Care Course within 4 months of hire
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada, or current RN licensure in another state with ability to obtain licensure in the State of Nevada
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hire date is required
CCRN certification is preferred
CSC certification is preferred
