Duties: In a Child and Youth Services (CYS) program serves as a Cook, in accordance with (IAW) all applicable regulations and standards. Applies knowledge and skill to assist in planning and implementing a comprehensive food service program that follows the policies and procedures of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Follows standard recipes and separate 4-6 seasonal cycle menus IAW USDA CACFP and Army policies (i.e... portion sizes, meal patterns, and "seconds" requirements). Performs a variety of food preparation and cooking tasks such as cleaning, paring, peeling, slicing, dicing; grilling, frying, baking broiling, pouring liquids and mixing ingredients. Prepares a variety of foods and desserts according to menu requirements. Prepares and cooks a variety of more complicated/time consuming foods such as meats poultry, seafood, vegetables, stews, casseroles, gravies, sauces, and baked goods following standard recipes.
About the Position: This can be an Intermittent (Flexible) position. Flexible employees may work 0-40 hours per week on a scheduled or unscheduled basis. Flexible employees are ineligible for health and dental insurance, 401 (K), retirement, annual and sick leave benefits.

Qualifications:
NA-04 Level- Work experience related to the duties described above, that include skill in working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment. NA-06 Level- A minimum of 6 months of work experience directly related to the duties described above, that include skill in working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment. Condition of Employment- Satisfactory completion of ServeSafe Training within the first 6 months of employment.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time; or recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching and reaching.
Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.

Child Care Criminal History background checks may be required prior to movement to position.
A medical examination may be required.
All required background checks of AR 215-3, must be successfully completed and maintained including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI); to include a health assessment is required.
You will be required to show Social Security card upon appointment to a NAF position.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
Documentation to support Military Spouse Preference needs to be submitted at time of application.
