Responsibilities:
Manage and control the implementation of global supply policies in the region under his/her responsibility by implementing the best commercial and supply agreements, guaranteeing that the required steel meet plants expectation in terms of quality, costs and delivery terms.
Main Accountabilities:
Planning and Management Control: Ensure the implementation of the Steel Sourcing strategic plan
Procurement Management: Continuous improvement of internal purchasing process cycle
Establishing with suppliers efficiency (resources and processes) and economic (savings) terms
Participate in contract negotiations with suppliers ensuring that non-compliance terms are in place for conditions established in purchase orders
Participating in guaranteeing qualified material at minimum cost by suppliers
Contracts: Negotiating prices, volume, delivery terms and quality; ensure correct development of new suppliers and provision of substitute supplementary products
Optimizing item and volume per vendor allocation based on logistic cost, grade extras and yield in order to minimize total cost of steel
Logistics Management: Ensure material supplied in due time and manner through suppliers fulfilling required delivery timers, monitor compliance, and negotiate
Working with operations to pursue enhancement opportunities by suggesting improvements to operations and implementing the plans developed by top management
Qualifications:
10 years experience in all of the above within the steel industry. Someone who has worked at Wire, Reliance, Center Steel, etc will have these skills.
