Principal Software Engineer

Duties:

Builds and supports software applications and their components that assist doctors match patients to more advanced treatment options. Designs, develops unit tests code reviews, and develops technical documentation. Writes, tests, and refactors code that is reusable, testable, efficient, well architected, and well commented. Provides guidance to lower-level Software Engineers. Leads technical design efforts, and is instrumental in ensuring accurate, innovative, and low-defect software solutions. Defines and participates in software development processes that leverage best practice and support continuous product delivery. Creates custom programs and applications as designated by business need. Defines and documents architecture and formal technical specifications. Maintains efforts for products or platforms to be resilient, Cloud-native, secure, and scalable. Leads the delivery of complex production-ready projects. Ensures code adheres to patterns and established standards. Participates in regular peer design and code reviews. Integrates and deploys code using provisioning and release tools, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Debugs highly complex problems escalated by other team members. Engineers’ installation qualifications and operational qualifications. Conforms to coding conventions and all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Provides end-to-end responsibility on projects of increasing complexity. Provides fully independent contributions. Advocates for appropriate solutions with multiple stakeholders. Leads Scrum ceremonies. Mentors and coaches’ team members and participates in hiring. Assumes ownership of the technical scope and business domain of the team.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field and five (5) years experience as a Principal Software Engineer (or closely related occupation) building containerized Web and RESTful API applications using Java, .NET, or ReactJs and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) solutions; Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field and three (3) years experience as a Principal Software Engineer (or closely related occupation) building containerized Web and RESTful API applications using Java, .NET, or ReactJs and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) solutions. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) determining system specifications, analyzing requirements, and developing Single Page Applications (SPAs) or RESTful APIs using software best practices, standards, and programming and preparing and installing software solutions using Intellij, Visual Studio, SQL Server, Oracle, Java, C#, .Net, GitHub, Maven, and Docker;DE examining systems flow, data usages, and work processes from business user stories, epics, and existing applications and developing and deploying software systems in Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud environments; DE investigating application performance bottlenecks and response time and system lag using logging, profiling, and monitoring tools, including Splunk, logz.io, JMeter, Gatling, JProfiler, Dynatrace, and NewRelic; DE developing and delivering patient-centric health and medical technology solutions according to HIPAA regulations using Java/J2EE capabilities and Spring Frameworks (Boot, Batch, and Webservices) and working in a collaborative Agile Scrum environment to provide technical management to concurrent business initiatives and Web and API application deliverables using Jira, ServiceNow, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Confluence, and Sharepoint. Position requires 10% domestic and international travel, often on short notice.
