Minimum Qualifications
Earned doctorate in an allied health or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution and a superlative academic record in teaching, research and service that merits appointment as a Full Professor in an academic discipline represented within the College. Dedication to and strong background in higher education and a minimum of three (3) years of successful leadership at the Chair, Division, or Dean level. Demonstrated fundraising success at multiple levels.

Experience in building programs of excellence consistent with the university's and college's vision and mission and leadership experience in program accreditation. Demonstrated expertise in faculty and staff development, budgeting and fiscal management and program/faculty evaluation. A willingness to be part of a university culture that embraces the unique aspects of FGCU's fixed and continuing multi-year faculty appointments, e-learning, service-learning, environmental sustainability as a major learning theme, and active university/community partnerships is vital. Candidate should possess skills in collaborating with diverse academic disciplines and managing allocation of facilities, resources and budgets to meet current and future program needs.

This is a 12-month position at the rank of Professor.

General Summary Statement:
The Dean serves as the chief academic officer of the College and reports to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs. One of five colleges at FGCU, the College of Health Professions (CHP) employs nearly 50 full-time faculty and over 10 staff. CHP is comprised of the School of Nursing and the School of Health and Rehabilitation, which includes the Departments of Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy and Community Health, and Physical Therapy and Human Performance. The College of Health Professions maintains seven (7) professional accreditations. CHP serves over 1,200 graduate and undergraduate students. The Kleist Health Education Center, an educational not-for-profit organization devoted to promoting healthy lifestyles, is also an important component of the CHP. A new building to house the college is being planned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in an interdisciplinary College of Health Professions. Demonstrated accreditation experience, preferably in a leadership position. Serves as a role model in team-building and establishing open communication and collaboration with faculty and staff in order to develop a shared vision for the future. Ability to manage programs in the College of Health Professions and develop creative programs and interdisciplinary educational and research experiences within the college and across the University. Demonstrated strategic planning experience. Superlative abilities in oral, written, and group communication, dynamic interpersonal relationship skills, systems organizational skills, and success in working with a diverse faculty, student body, staff, and community. A proven history of developing and attracting external funding through grants, contracts and/or fundraising and to manage budgets. Develops partnerships for the shared use of facilities, personnel, and funds with both internal and external agencies. The Dean must believe in a team approach to leadership and be committed to diversity in staffing and student recruitment. The Dean must be an advocate for the College and embrace the University's vision, mission, guiding principles, and student learning outcomes. Demonstrated understanding of the health care system and substantial evidence of being a successful practitioner. Ability to work collectively with the other deans to effectively manage growth and allocate resources.
