Dow Corning currently seeks a Senior Manager of Organizational Development for a position at our Midland, Michigan facility.

This position in an individual contributor role and reports to the Global Director of Talent Management and is a member of the Global Talent Management team.

The Sr. Manager of Organizational Development is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing strategic organizational effectiveness processes and learning initiatives. The core responsibilities of this position are executive and leadership development, managerial development, performance management, and succession planning. The incumbent will interface with all levels of leadership. The Sr. Manager of Organizational Development will also partner with business leadership, including affiliates, to design and deliver impactful, practical organizational development solutions.

Job Skills/Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

  • Sets the strategic, organization-wide direction for and ensures implementation of organizational development initiatives and other business initiatives as requested
  • Works directly with HR leaders to design, develop and implement corporate leadership development and learning programs, succession planning, and other human capital processes as identified by the HR Leadership team.
  • Consults with and coaches HR team members and business managers on designing and implementing solutions to help them achieve their business results
  • Works closely with senior leaders and business unit managers to develop a series of exemplar leadership skills, abilities and experiences to enable candidates to be promoted into key leadership positions.
  • Identifies, develops, and implements programs to prepare successor candidates such as; formal training, job rotation, and one-on-one developmental coaching programs.

Requirements Required Degree(s), Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Instructional Design, or Industrial/Organization Psychology required; Masters or Ph.D preferred.
  • 10 plus years experience in the Organizational Development or Learning field
  • Minimum 5 years managing or directly supporting a progressive and comprehensive talent management and succession planning program.
  • Knowledge of executive and management development strategies, models and operation.
  • Fundamental knowledge of human resources concepts; extensive experience in OD concepts and application with a strong emphasis on practical solutions with a proven track record of successful implementation
  • Strong knowledge of organizational development models and processes.
  • Ability to design and manage a progressive leadership and talent management curriculum and succession planning program.
  • Ability to set strategic direction and deliver practical business solutions is essential
  • Prior supervision experience is desired
  • Proven success at building credibility quickly at all levels of the organization including the executive level
  • Knowledge of leadership competency models.
  • Strong coaching and personal development skills.
