Assistant Project Manager

Job Location: Plano, Texas

Duties:

Participate in selecting appropriate subcontractors for construction projects; prepare bidding documents; create bid evaluations; analyze bids; make recommendations to the Project Manager on subcontractor selection using fair methods and practices; participate in writing subcontractor contracts, purchase orders and change order agreements for Project Manager's approval; prepare estimates for projects; gain knowledge of project comparison estimating, take-off estimating, and category square footage comparison estimating; prepare project schedules utilizing historical averages, field resources, project management resources and industry resources; identify project problems and gathering information on alternative solutions; prepare job cost reports utilizing accounting reports, field resources, and project management resources; prepare Applications for Payment to the project owner; become familiar with the company’s Quality Assurance Program and specific project Quality Assurance programs including research and revision recommendations; become familiar with the company’s Safety Program and participate in preparing specific safety measures and programs that are reviewed and approved by the appropriate Safety Manager; participate in appropriate project coordination meetings with the owner or owner's representative; create any necessary communication or correspondence with any governmental agencies, clients, subcontractors, design disciplines, or other appropriate entities for review and approval by the Project Manager; and participate in preparing new client proposals for review and approval by the appropriate Operations Manager.

Requirements:              

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience in the full construction life cycle from design and planning to completion and turnover or, alternatively, a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience in the full construction life cycle from design and planning to completion and turnover. Specific skills/other requirements - Experience must include (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Hospitality, industrial, or multifamily construction; Ground-up and renovation; Managing project budgets > $20 million and scheduling subcontractors as well as owner liaison; Project management software (Procore, SAGE, or P6); Risk management plan development and management; Supervising and managing RFIs, submittals and shop drawings, project punch-outs, closeout, and owner training; and PMP Certification.
