Job Summary
To develop and coordinate daily activities for a team of inspectors responsible for the evaluation of sourced finished goods and components.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor Current job instructions and quality procedures to be followed.
- Segregate non-conforming materials.
- Write and process paperwork for rejected products and materials.
- Enter quality data into SAP for report and statistical analysis generation.
- Assist inspectors in troubleshooting defects, root cause analysis and decision-making regarding quality of parts and products.
- Provide timely feedback to management regarding quality of parts and processes.
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma training, DMAIC methodologies, and tools drive data-decisions and improvements.
- Continuously identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist in project identification, prioritization and development of projects including determining appropriate scope and duration of planned projects.
- Develop and recommend improvements in current operation practices to promote efficiency.
- Plan and assign work for the most efficient use of personnel and equipment.
- Enforce Company policies including all Safety rules.
- Respond to customer service questions and requests.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a full-time quality role or equivalent demonstrated experience/ability in area to be assigned.
- Must be able to supervise team and guide them through the DMAIC problem solving process to achieve measurable results
- Good quantitative, analytical and personal computer abilities.
- Knowledge and ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, and MiniTab to properly analyze data.
- Proficient knowledge and use of test equipment, gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, scales, blueprints, BOMs, manufacturing records and work instructions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coach and discipline associates.
- Ability to motivate and lead associates.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and handle a dynamic work load
- Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.
- Must be detail oriented
- Possess a strong sense of urgency regarding assigned duties and have excellent follow up abilities
- Six Sigma project experience helpful.
- ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent organization preferred.
Working Conditions
- Must be capable of sitting, standing, and or walking for extended periods of time.
- Required to work in a physical environment that is subject to temperature extremes.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
