Basic Function:
The Nursing Department is the largest department in the College, with 600 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs. The BSN and MSN programs are accredited by CCNE. We are currently recruiting for the position of Director for the MSN Program. The MSN program offers two plans of study: Nurse Clinician Educator and Nursing Systems Management, both with full and part time options. Other specialty areas under consideration. (See JCHS.edu). JCHS has an exciting new initiative underway in interprofessional education underway in collaboration with the Virginia Tech/Carilion School of Medicine that is opening in Fall 2010. This proposed collaboration will provide many new opportunities for research/teaching and service. The Program Director reports directly to the Department Chair and will provide academic and administrative leadership as well as teaching for the MSN program.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education: Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field, along with a master's in nursing is required.
Experience: Experience in graduate nursing education required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Teaching experience appropriate for position. Scholarly record consistent with academic rank. Must be eligible for Virginia State licensure as a RN.
