PAY RANGE: $75,000 - $97,530
Base salary is determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.

CLOSING DATE: This position will close on May 25, 2017.

LOCATION: Norfolk, NE

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To effectively lead a service and operations workforce, focusing on obtaining organizational objectives within the guidelines of providing safe, reliable natural gas utility service to customers.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Operations Manager – Gas Operations

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Proactively promote and lead safety initiatives in all phases of operations and in compliance with DOT, State, and Company standards.
  • Supervise, schedule, train, and develop front-line employees performing work in the areas of construction, maintenance, appliance repair, and customer and administrative support.
  • Manage employee & labor relations issues at the operational level, with assistance from Human Resources.
  • Implement annual gas operating plans at a competitive cost, on time, and at agreed to levels of quality.
  • Develop district level budgets.
  • Oversee and ensure the completion of all regulated/mandated work.
  • Ensure that customers receive excellent levels of service.
  • Respond to and resolve customer requests and issues.
  • Actively participate in maintaining favorable community relations.
  • Promote, sell, and manage non-regulated service programs, such as Service Guard and Technical Services.
  • Actively sponsor or lead continuous improvement efforts and create a positive environment that empowers all employees to continuously improve.
  • Make daily decisions that positively impact capital and maintenance programs including third party contractors.
  • Support vendor of choice relationships with utility and non-utility groups to meet non-regulated revenue and margin goals.
  • Partner with other departments and personnel to continuously improve processes.
  • Provide technical, financial, and operational expertise.
  • Maintain training records and compliance documentation.
  • Respond to emergency situations.
  • Participate in the emergency on-call rotation schedule.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Requires successful partnerships with other energy delivery groups and customer care to meet field services business goals, customer service standards, and expectations.
  • Support vendor of choice relationships with utility and non-utility groups to meet non-regulated revenue and margin goals.
  • Serve as a direct customer contact point.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years of relevant experience.
  • Supervisory experience or proven ability to lead employees. Proven leadership skills including coaching and engaging.
  • Five years of utility industry experience and knowledge of gas operations desired.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering or related field or a combination of education and work experience.
