Job Description
Our drivers have enjoyed the open road with the opportunity to see America's beauty throughout the south, southwest and mid-west since 1971. Mile after mile, our drivers ride comfortably in modern, well-maintained equipment. When it's time for a good night's rest, our drivers have the option of over 100 Averitt facilities to safely rest. Many Service Centers have on-duty security, re-fueling, showers, and exercise rooms along with other driver conveniences.

- Primarily southern, southwest and mid-west lanes- 31 states.
- No NYC or Canada
- Assigned safe/well-maintained Volvos and Freightliners with majority having automatic transmissions and APUs.
- Home EVERY Week!
- Pre Pass Plus
Starting Pay
- 41.5 cpm with 2+ years experience. (For WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, and MI locations only)
- 37 cpm with 2+ years experience for all other locations.
- 37 cpm with 12-24 months experience. (For WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, and MI locations only)
- 35 cpm with 12-24 months experience for all other locations.
- Top out pay is currently 41.5 cpm
- $10 load secure fee paid on every load (for strapping, chaining, etc.)
- $25 tarp fee, also paid on re-tarp (in the event of a stop off)

Job Requirements
Flatbed Driver 25 years of age and older:
- 1 year of verifiable Flatbed experience within past 2 years
- Drivers must have a Class A CDL
- Alabama coil certification must be completed - driver's expense (this can be done post hire; cost is $10 with our discount).
- No convictions for Reckless Driving w/in the past 5 years
- No convictions for DUI or DWI w/in the past 5 years
- No suspensions or revocations for a moving violation w/in the past 5 years
- No serious violations w/in previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with a fatality)
- No more than 1 moving violation w/in the past 12 months
- No more than 2 moving violations w/in the past 3 years
- Not currently involved in any pending court action that would disqualify him/her from employment
- No felony convictions
- No misdemeanors for theft or violence within the past 10 years
- No misdemeanors for drugs within the past 5 years
Flatbed Driver 23-24 years of age:
- 1 year of verifiable Flatbed experience within past 2 years
- Alabama coil certification must be completed - driver's expense (this can be done post hire; cost is $10 with our discount).
- No Moving violations w/in the past 3 years
- No preventable accidents w/in the past 3 years
- No convictions for Reckless Driving w/in the past 5 years
- No convictions for DUI or DWI w/in the past 5 years
- No suspensions or revocations for moving violations w/in the past 5 years
- Drivers must have a Class A CDL
- Not currently involved in any pending court action that would disqualify him/her from employment
- No felony convictions
- No misdemeanors for theft or violence within the past 10 years
- No misdemeanors for drugs within the past 5 years
Either must be able to:
- Count Freight (when necessary)
- Complete Fuel Tickets
- Hook/Unhook Trailer
- Perform pre-trip Inspections
- Extensive Travel-ability to sit upright for extended periods of time
- Load/Unload Freight (occasionally-when required)
- Drive
- Regular Predictable Attendance
- Fuel Trucks
