Overview

American Foods Group, LLC, a large family owned, privately held, meat processing company with locations across the Midwest, is hiring a Director of Talent Acquisition. This new position will lead the companys corporate talent acquisition function sourcing, recruiting, hiring and on-boarding the wide range of future team members for the companys plant and headquarters operations. In this role, you will be a key member of the corporate Human Resources team, contributing greatly to the companys success. The Position

The Director of Talent Acquisition will lead the creation and execution of a successful talent acquisition strategy for American Foods Groups and its facilities. The position is responsible for the full range of talent acquisition required for the success of the company. This includes a comprehensive multi-faceted strategy for high volume, full life cycle recruiting of qualified hourly production employees for the companys harvest and further processing facilities, as well as supervisory, administrative and professional positions at those facilities. It also includes acquisition of high caliber team members for AFG corporate and corporate support positions, including IT team members. The Director of Talent Acquisition will develop and execute a strategy to find potential hourly production workers wherever they are and recruit them to our plant communities. He/She will optimize internet-based and social media recruiting, including managing and optimizing the companys recruiting, applicant tracking and on-boarding system. The position will lead college-based recruiting and support the companys intern program. The position will guide and support internal clients to improve their understanding of and success in talent acquisition and will also lead continuous improvement of talent acquisition for the company.

Location

The position will be located in the companys Green Bay, WI or Twin Cities, MN location.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Thoughtful leadership and strong management and supervisory abilities
  • The ability to lead, coach and mentor recruiting team members throughout the organization.
  • Strategy development and execution.
  • Self-starter, with abilities to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and integrate with the broader HR team in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong technical/professional expertise in all aspects and types of talent acquisition: sourcing, lead generation, recruiting, candidate assessment and selection, and on-boarding from hourly production to senior management positions.
  • Proven ability to pipeline talent along with in-depth knowledge of creative sourcing techniques to uncover passive candidates.
  • Ability to optimize the use of an integrated applicant tracking, recruiting and onboarding system, web-based recruiting, social media, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong project management skills, including a proven track record of leading complex projects using standard project management practices and tools.
  • Ability to assess needs, influence, collaborate, deliver and partner with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Organizational astuteness, flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities and/or organizational needs.
  • A willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to support plant-based hiring and nationally scoped recruiting.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of personal responsibility for outcomes.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or other business field
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in high volume, full life cycle talent acquisition/recruiting of hourly production employees and supervisory, administrative and professional employees, but may substitute 4 years of HR generalist experience for up to 2 of the 6 years

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Experience in the meat processing industry strongly preferred
  • Bi-lingual - Spanish and English strongly preferred
  • Technical/IT recruiting experience also preferred
