Job Details:   

Principal Data Engineer (ACE American Insurance Company (Chubb)), (Jersey City, NJ): Create IICS – ETL Jobs to transfer heterogeneous data into databases from external providers; Writing up and maintaining specifications, design documents and process flows for data orchestration and consumption from data lake; Elaborating user stories for technical stakeholders, coordinating cross-functionally to complete deliverables, translating needs into action items and ensuring team understanding of deliverables and objectives; Providing technical solutions in design and development of data lake and analytics; Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining data architecture, models and standards for integration and warehousing projects in muti-tenant cloud platforms; Contributing to development and data operations, supporting future data engineering operations; Maintaining conformity to enterprise data policies, best practices and standards, ensuring technical deliverables reflect these practices; Mentoring a team to analyze, design, build and test development projects focused on analytics and data integration; Working with large amounts of data, including interpretation, analysis, gap analysis, reporting and fulfilling ad-hoc requests to support business and technical teams. Must have experience with the following in order to complete the above-mentioned tasks: Experience in Python, ADF; Experience in data integration and data migration; Experience with P&C Insurance data; Technical expertise regarding data architecture, models and database design development; Fluency in database technologies including SQL server, Oracle, Azure Synapse; Knowledge of T-SQL, XMLs, ETL frameworks and Databricks; Experience with Git version control; Knowledge of data analysis in Excel; Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information; Experience being part of high-performance agile teams; Experience with matrix management; and Experience with analysis, design, testing and deployment of applications. Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or closely related field and at least three (3) years of experience as a Principal Data Engineer or related occupation. Hybrid option to work from home may be available. Salary: $140,000-$170,000/year.
